The place was very clean and the staff extremely helpful. Its no problem to walk down the alley to the hotel to swim and eat breakfast. Its vey safe in Zanzibar. The breakfast buffet has a fantastic variety and sitting out on the terrace to eat is lovely, watching the boats and all the beach activity. Tembo Hotel is really the best place to stay in Stone Town. Have them send a taxi to the airport for you, its a flat rate, no problems and all the taxis are marked and official so no worries. Our driver Abdul then took us on several other drives and was careful and interesting to talk to.

My guests enjoyed their stay at Tembo Hotel, they loved how central it was, you can do all of your exploring and shopping on foot. The room was comfortable, food was good and the reservations team were incredibly helpful when assisting me with the booking.

The price is too high if you book the apartment. Its better to book a room at the hotel. We had to switch our rooms twice. First, the AC smells like a cigarette. Second, the bathroom overflowed because of a broken water reservoir.

Close to Forodhani park, where you can find good food in the evening. The breakfast buffet was rich and offered a variety of both African and European food.

Beautiful old-fashioned apartments in Central Stonetown. The buffet buffet at the seafront restaurant is excellent, and there is also a large pool for guests.

Great location of the hotel, right in the center. Beautiful colonial building. Captivating plants. Breakfast in the hotel restaurant with the view on the ocean. Swedish buffet. Nice swimming pool. Very nice, professional service. Rooms clean, fully equipped. Well-functioning internet.

Very nice and clean room, great breakfast, very friendly staff. The hotel is close to the main spots of Stone Town and the main building is right on the beach. After check out they stored our baggages in a room and we could use the pool and everything in the hotel. Before our flight we could have shower and change in a nice separate changing room.

This hotel is amazing, the staff are so welcoming and friendly 5* given for this and the cleanliness, the lovely manager is always present and at breakfast time he comes to every table to greet you and check everything is fine. The hotel is a beautiful old heritage building with antique furniture and artifacts everywhere, It's very central for walking to all the main places of interest including Freddie Mercury's museum is only a 2 min walk. As a solo female traveller it is completely safe to walk around the town at night.

Had a twin room. Very clean and spacious. AC worked great. Modern bathroom. Location was central, quick walk to the main hotel (less than 5mins, even with a leg injury) and around Stone Town. Having access to the hotel and its amenities/pools was great. Breakfast was fantastic, lots of choices including an egg/omelet station.

Staff was really friendly and helpful, always ready to help and they seem like they really cared about the quality of our stay. Rooms were really comfortable and spotless, well-equipped with lots of packing space. Breakfast was nice with a wide variety of local and international options. It was great that we could enjoy all the benefits of the Hotel, only 1 min walk away. Location was great, all sights were max 10 mins walk away
